The Austrian Cricket Association is the National Governing Body of Cricket in Austria. It was founded in 1981 by Kerry Tattersall, as the Austrian Cricketers Association, following the re-introduction of cricket to Austria in 1975, with the founding of Vienna Cricket Club - as 1. Cricket was recorded as being played in Vienna as far back as the 1890s, traditionally by gardeners of mercantile famil

ies. During the post-war occupation of Austria, cricket was also played by allied forces members. Since 1992, the Austrian Cricket Association has been an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council, and it is one of the founding members of the European Cricket Council. The European Cricket Council, now known as ICC Europe, is responsible for the administration of the ICC's European Development Program.

A strong performance by our Women’s National Team at the Continental Cup in Bucharest, Romania, has secured an impressive 3rd-place finish among eight participating teams.

Throughout the tournament, the team demonstrated commitment, discipline, teamwork, and determination, representing Austria with pride and professionalism.

After a difficult start against Türkiye, our Austrian Women’s National Team showed incredible character, determination and fighting spirit to bounce back in style against Guernsey!

AUSTRIA 🇦🇹 SWEEP HUNGARY 🇭🇺 3-0! 🏏

Austria wrapped up a memorable tour of Hungary with a clean 3-0 sweep in the T20I series, delivering outstanding performances across all three matches. From clinical run chases in the opening two games to a record-breaking batting display in the series finale, the team showcased its strength, depth, and fearless brand of cricket.

🏆 Series Results
✅ 1st T20I – Austria won by 8 wickets
✅ 2nd T20I – Austria won by 9 wickets
✅ 3rd T20I – Austria won by 157 runs

The final match will be remembered as one of the greatest batting performances in Austrian cricket history. Austria piled up a massive 322/7, with Karanbir Singh producing a breathtaking innings of 164 off just 57 balls, helping the team register one of the highest totals in Men's T20I cricket.

⚡ Abidullah Kotwal added to the fireworks with an explosive 93 from only 26 balls*, equalling the fastest fifty in Men's T20I history by reaching his half-century in just 12 deliveries.

🌟 Series Highlights
🏏 Karanbir Singh finished as the series' leading run scorer with 260 runs and was named MVP for his outstanding batting performance.

What a fantastic win for Austria against Malta in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Sub Regional Qualifier!

A brilliant all-round performance from ⭐ Bilal Zalmai ⭐ earned him the Player of the Match award. His impactful bowling spell and explosive 34 runs off just 14 balls gave Austria complete control of the game. 👏🔥

Special praise as well for Armaan Randhawa, who played a calm and classy unbeaten knock, guiding the chase beautifully. 💪

And what a start from Karanbir Singh! 🚀 Smashing 23 runs from only 6 balls with fearless intent and putting Malta under pressure from the very first over.

Fantastic contribution at the end by Imran Asif to seal the deal for Austria.
