Sending you sunny greetings from Austria!

Thank you for joining our original FB page - and as you may remember, we’ve moved from our lovely Landhaus Lilly into a new house (in our former garden!)

The b&b is in the capable and friendly hands of new owners … who are now our next door neighbours and lovely new friends!

We so enjoyed meeting guests from around the world during our time at the B&B - and can now look forward to welcoming guests to our apartment in our new house! (Please see link in the comments below 🤗😍)

It’s been an interesting / challenging / life changing few years for many of us - and we hope this message finds you happy and well 🥰

Hope we may catch up with you one day - in the meantime - please let us know where you are and how things are!

Just a VERY brief post to say ... we've MOVED!!!

We've sold the lovely Landhaus Lilly to fabulous new owners, who will still continue to welcome great guests from around the world :-)

It was time for our next project ... but we haven't moved far ... in fact ... we're building a new house for ourselves in the garden ... guess what our new house number is ;-) PLUS we will have space for a wonderful new guest apartment!

In the meantime, we are making our way towards the UK, to spend Christmas with family (who haven't seen us for a very long time!) ... and you may recognise some places from our recent travels!

We hope that this finds you fit and well? and look forward to hearing your news!

After a busy summer and autumn season, we’re closing the doors today (... and will let you know when we’re opening up again!)

Time now to say a huge THANK YOU! 👍🥰 to our lovely guests who were able to visit ... and to those who did not make it this year - we look forward to hopefully welcoming you here soon 🤞🤞

We made the most of the autumnal sunshine today in St Gilgen 🍁☀️🍂😁 and went for a lovely walk in the sunshine. On the opposite bank we could see the cabins 🚡 of the the newly renovated and updated cable car ... and behind us the Schafberg mountain, above St Wolfgang.

So now to renovations and updates (no rest for us just yet 🤣👍!) and to send our best wishes 🤩🙋‍♀️😁🍂☀️🍁

🤩 Had such a lovely walk today and saw some of the six lakes at the Tauplitzalm 🍁😊🍂☀️ It’s only 30 mins drive away, up a toll mountain road ... so somewhere else to visit when you’re next in the area?!

Our guests from Belgium 🇧🇪 - celebrating their *40th year* on holiday here in Obertraun! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 Many congratulations Ria and Laurent!!!!!!!

For many of these years they stayed with the previous owners, and they have stayed with us in our newly renovated Landhaus Lilly for the past 7 years 🇧🇪👍

Phew! We’ve had lots more lovely guests staying recently 🤩👍☀️😁 - but does anyone know - where has August disappeared to?!!

We have managed to fit in a couple of little visits to a few local lakes 😀🤩🥳 and have been trying out our new kayaks!! 🛶 🛶 what fun!!

We’re hoping for a sunny autumn so we can keep going with our new hobby for another couple of months 🤞 and still welcome guests for some hiking and relaxing!

Hope all’s well where you are? We have been grateful for our lovely guests who have visited in the past couple of months 🥰

Initially we welcomed guests only living in Austria - then the borders opened and people have been travelling from a little further afield, particularly from Germany, Czech Republic and Hungary and also Denmark and Lithuania - thank you all!

We are officially open since last Friday ... plus Austria has now opened the borders with all of its neighbouring countries (apart from Italy for the moment) ... and Hallstatt is in the news again ... and it’s currently full of Austrian tourists 👍

We know it’s not the same everywhere - but we hope that all is well wherever you are in the world? ☀️😊🙋‍♀️

Usually Hallstatt would open its doors to almost 10,000 visitors a day. But amid Covid-19, everything has changed for the near-800 locals who call this charming Austrian village home.

We made it back to Landhaus Lilly!

Thanks so much for your kind messages of support, both here and emails and messages (and we hope to have replied in person and if not, please accept our apologies).

So after our original flights back from Thailand were canceled ... the 're-booked' flights were then canceled! With no further assistance available we booked our own flights home via Doha, with Qatar airlines, directly to Vienna. They did provide an excellent service and we were grateful they were still operating ... as the departures board when we were leaving Bangkok clearly shows ... most flights were canceled!

We had to prove we were entitled to fly to Austria every stage of the way, as borders were already closed to non-citizens or non-residents. The original documents we showed they didn't seem to be interested in at all! We then showed them diving licenses, other bank cards and health cards ... and fortunately, they did the trick ... but for a while, we were somewhat concerned!

We now have 14 days quarantine at home, which is of course no problem in the circumstances, and friends kindly stocked our fridge before we arrived back 😁. We are very fortunate where we live and so far we've had sleet, some snow, and now some sunshine today.

The Thai people generally and staff at hotels where we stayed on the islands of Koh Samui and Koh Phagnan were fantastic in looking after us, in spite of their own increasing uncertainty. They helped us with masks and gloves to travel with, as this was a requirement in Thailand, and they helped coordinate hospital checks so we were certified as 'fit to fly'.

There is plenty to do here to keep us busy - but we're still in a jetlag haze and slowly getting to grips with contacting guests and getting organised.

That's our news - and we hope that you are keeping safe and do let us know your news if you have a moment. We've had some lovely messages out of the blue from our past guests which has been so heart-warming and much appreciated.
