🏆 Roller Derby World Cup 2025 🏆
After a week in Innsbruck, we finally processed all the emotions, sorted through the photos, and washed our gear, so we’re finally bringing you a little recap of this unforgettable tournament.
For one week, Austrian Innsbruck came alive with the spirit of roller derby. The World Cup united 48 teams from around the globe, along with their amazing fans. The streets were filled with skates, as well as banners, flags, and patches — standing against fascism, in support of Ukraine and Palestine, and carrying messages like "Skates over states" and "Trans athletes belong in sport”, mottos of the whole event. Love, solidarity, and shared values, this is what roller derby is about, and it’s why we love it.
The Czech team finished at a beautiful 29th place and was one of only 12 teams to earn two wins in the first stage of the tournament! Every game was packed with emotions and unforgettable moments, all beautifully captured by our favorite photographer Jan Hutter Thank you, Honza, thanks to your photos, we can return to Innsbruck anytime and wipe away a nostalgic tear.
