We’ve just completed a successful and grueling training camp at one of the toughest tracks in the world — Altenberg, Germany. Known for its demanding curves and intense challenges, this track truly tests every aspect of our team’s skill and resilience. In addition to honing our individual and team techniques, we’ve also had the incredible opportunity to take our first few runs in the Big 4-Man Sled. It’s a whole new level of speed and coordination, but the crew is rising to the challenge! A special shout-out to the men of The Parachute Regiment, who have been going strong throughout the camp. Your dedication and teamwork are inspiring! We will continue to fly the flag for Great Britain! 🇬🇧 Here you can see the famous Altenberg Kreisel. A full 360° corner consisting of 3 pressures! Not too shabby for 120kmh+…😎 Now, it’s time to focus on the road ahead as we look forward to the upcoming race days on the Europa Cup circuit. After an interesting 15 months of navigating through some tough challenges and false allegations from team members, I am proud to announce that I’ve been exonerated and ready to get back down to BUSINESS! 🛷❄️ This week, we’re in Igls, Austria for the British Army Championships, where we aim to select the squad to move forward to the Inter-service Championships in Lillehammer, Norway! 🇳🇴 There, we’ll face off against the RAF and the Royal Navy in a final showdown.The Army sliders are in the best hands possible, led by none other than the legend himself, Tom Delahunty – a man who seems older than Bobsleigh itself but who knows this sport like no other! The Army Championship race is this Friday. Wish us luck! 🍀 Let’s do this! 👊

Well here lays the end of the 2023/2024 Bobsleigh season… 🥲

The summer of 2023 saw 4 self funded training camps/push competitions with a whole variety of athletes. We saw athletes achieving PBs in the gym and on the push track. We saw a development team starting to come together.

After winning push testing on 26th August ‘23 I was dropped from the British Bobsleigh & Skeleton programme. Rather than sit idle I took it upon myself to continue to slide under my own personal funds until the situation was rectified.

So, what has been achieved?

is a serving Rifleman with 1 RIFLES and one of the regiment’s elite sportsmen. He has competed for Great Britain and the British Army as a Brakeman in the Bobsleigh alongside his driver, Lance Corporal Nick Gleeson from the .regiment.ice.sports. With the full support of both regiments, they have been the UK Armed Forces Inter-Services individual champions two years in a row, and we hope they can continue to go from strength-to-strength. Tom recently competed in the St Moritz IS race with a start time of 5.16 seconds, which would have placed them 7th fastest in a World Cup race.

BOSH! 👊🏼

Yesterday we had the final push test event of the year where we lay down our best times to be put forward for Team Selection 23/24.

Final Pilot results (5-30m):

🥇Bobteam Gleeson
🥈Bobteam Baird
🥉Bobteam Stanbridge
4th Bobteam Hudson

We walked away with a new PB and an insane lead of almost 0.20s over second place 🤯

In a sport where we a measured to a hundreth of a second, this is a fantastic lead we will be taking out onto the ice 🥶

Massive thankyou to everyone who has supported me over this summer! In public and in private…you know who you are! 😎

Now we rest up and wait for the teams to be selected 🤫
