Yesterday, we lost Henri Sankala, one of the first and longest-standing Bagjump members.
Henri San took care of the Scandinavian market and, since 2009, kept the Bagjump flag high wherever he went. He organized countless Freedrop events at festivals and great locations throughout the years, spectacular world-record-setting freedrop shows with crane jumps at Port Noblesser from 55m and 65m, and Winter events with national teams and for the public. Henri wasn’t just about Bagjump; he came from professional snowboarding and was one of the top athletes in the early 2000s, riding competitions like the Air&Style contest, „The Battle“, Livigno European Open, winning the ISF World Youth Halfpipe Championships, and many more… a true legend on the board.
He loved to travel the world, go surfing wherever and whenever he could, and lived in many different countries over time, such as Finland, China, Estonia, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Austria, Indonesia, and many more places. Connecting with people around the globe from different scenes and backgrounds, he was always super interested and connected immediately with his Finnish charm and funny jokes. Later on, he found his spiritual awakening and spent most of his time at his new-found home in Ibiza, starting his new company Quantumiced , complementing his Finnish heritage by bringing ice baths and saunas to the people, and living life to the fullest and at the fittest, healthiest level. Unfortunately, life had other plans, and cancer took him away from us way too early. Our heart goes out to his family and to everyone who knew Henri.
