TIMING THE SINGLE LEG ⏱️🤼

The best moment for a single leg takedown?
Right as your opponent starts attacking with punches.

As he moves forward, his weight shifts onto the lead leg — making the defense much harder.

Perfect timing creates perfect opportunities. 💥

This variation requires precision and a lot of practice, but when the timing is right, the takedown becomes extremely difficult to stop.

CHAIN WRESTLING: switch the angle 🔄🤼

Single leg with the head outside.
Opponent defends with an underhook / crossface escape and pulls the leg back.

Don’t stay stuck.

Switch the position:
Bring your back hand to the underhook and move your head underneath his.
Now you can control the wrist, change the angle, and attack again.

Second entry → single leg with the head on the inside. 💥

Flow from one attack to the next.

11 Types of Pads & how we use them in MMA 🥊
In MMA, we don’t use just one type of pad.
Each tool has its own purpose — depending on whether we train speed, power, precision, defense, kicks, knees or elbows.
1. Speed Pads: Fast boxing combinations, light shots and reaction work.
2. Kick Shield: Hard kicks. Less combinations, more power and impact.
3. Focus Mitts: Precise punches, light elbows and light kick techniques.
4. Punch Mitts: Boxing combinations that can be thrown harder and more realistically.
5. Punch Shield: Single powerful shots — body shots, uppercuts, hooks and straight punches.
6. Thai Pads: Hard combinations, especially elbows, knees and powerful kicks mixed with punches.
7. Boxing Sticks: Movement, footwork and blocking techniques with light strikes.
8. Body Shield: Hard body shots and knees to the body.
9. Low Kick Shield: Low kicks in combination with boxing pads for faster transitions.
10. Calf Kick Shield: The dangerous calf kick — controlled, but perfect to combine with boxing pads.
11. Coach Spar Gloves: Boxing techniques, head movement, defensive reactions and blocking.

In MMA, it’s not only about hitting hard.
It’s about using the right tool for the right situation.

From Pads to Fight Night 🥊🔥

Was im Kampf „instinktiv“ aussieht, ist in Wahrheit tausendfach trainiert.

Wir als Coaches versuchen, Bewegungsabläufe auf den Pratzen so tief ins Unterbewusstsein des Kämpfers zu bringen, dass sie unter Druck automatisch abgerufen werden.

Hier sieht man ein paar Sequenzen, wie perfekt Simon Biyong das am Samstag bei OKTAGON 88 umgesetzt hat.

Die Jabs, um Punkte zu sammeln, Schaden zu verursachen und Öffnungen zu kreieren.
Dann die entscheidende Kombination:

Cross → Haken → kurzer Slip → wieder linker Haken

Der Slip war in dieser Situation eigentlich gar nicht notwendig 😅
Aber genau das zeigt, wie automatisiert diese Bewegungen bereits sind.

Und zum Schluss noch ein paar leckere Kniechen 🍖🔥

Das ist der Unterschied zwischen Technik lernen und Technik im Kampf abrufen.
