Next Stop: Japan 🇯🇵 – Part 4❤️

Tokyo was full of color, energy, and unexpected moments. We marveled at the views from Shibuya Sky, wandered through the buzz of Akihabara, and explored the Digital Lab Interactive Museum together.

One stop we were especially looking forward to was a capybara café—booked weeks in advance. It turned out to be surprisingly hard to find, tucked away in a quiet corner of the city. But we made it. And it reminded me: even with the best planning, things shift. What our daughters often remember is how we respond—with flexibility, patience, and humor.

Later that day, I met up with Jin, my international student advisor from university—someone I hadn’t seen in 23 years. It felt like no time had passed, yet everything had changed.

This part of the trip let my daughter see me differently—not as someone who always has it together, but as someone figuring things out as she goes.

Moms—how do you use travel or summer days to reflect with your daughters?

Has someone from your past led to a meaningful conversation recently?

Family-Connection: How you can strengthen your bond with your teenage daughter during summer break. ❤️

You used to spend every summer on a farm – now your daughter is drawn to places filled with culture, trends, and international flair. She may no longer want to hold your hand, but she still values your presence, your attention.

Your openness, empathy, and calm energy offer what she needs – especially in a time when she’s reshaping who she is. Trust, listening, and walking beside her—not ahead—create a closeness that feels genuine and respectful.

A moment for reflection:
🌿 How do you wish to show up for your daughter this summer – with heart and perspective?
🌿 Where can you begin to gently let go, to make space for trust and true connection?

Family-Connection: Have you ever felt like no matter what you do, it’s never enough –for anyone? ❤️

"I suddenly felt like I wasn’t enough for anyone.
Not for my mother, who needed me.
Not for my daughter, who felt pushed aside.
And certainly not for myself."

In my work, I support women who feel emotionally caught between generations.
Together, we find a path back to emotional strength, clarity – and to yourself.

Next Stop: Japan – Part 3 ❤️

After our soulful time in Koyasan, we continued on to Kyoto, where we explored the city's treasures during a beautiful 8-hour, 30 km bike tour—an unforgettable journey through history, culture, and quiet beauty.

From there, we traveled to Osaka for a heartfelt reunion with Akiko, followed by the next leg of our adventure: Nagoya. There, I reconnected with my dear longtime friend Urara, who warmly welcomed us and shared the charm of her hometown, including Japan’s oldest preserved castle—a powerful window into the country’s enduring spirit.

A particularly meaningful moment was when my daughter spent a day at the Aichi Steiner School in Nisshin, just outside Nagoya—offering us a rare glimpse into the rhythms of a gentle, alternative approach to Japanese education.

One of the highlights of our journey was a day trip to Shirakawa-go—a serene village where time seems to stand still. With its iconic Gassho-Zukuri farmhouses, peaceful natural setting, and simple village life, it embodies a living memory of nostalgic, authentic Japan—for both visitors and locals alike.

Dementia is more than forgetfulness.
What remains when memories begin to fade?❤️

Dementia is not a natural part of aging — it reshapes the lives of both those affected and their loved ones.
Many daughters suddenly find themselves caught in the middle: caring for an aging parent while raising their own children.

You don’t have to carry this alone.
I’m here to support you in finding clarity and emotional connection again — for yourself, your parents, and your family.

Next Stop: Japan 🇯🇵 – Part 2❤️
From southern Japan, my daughter and I continued on to Hiroshima, Miyajima, Himeji, and the Buddhist temple town of Koyasan.
This wasn’t your typical vacation – it was a chance to spend intentional time with my daughter as she begins to grow more independent and slowly pulls away.
We researched together, practiced basic Japanese, planned our routes – not perfectly, but with curiosity and respect.

My goal was to show her how I personally deal with the unknown, how I stay open to new experiences, and how I adapt when plans change or I don’t have all the answers.

❤️How are you shaping this summer with your daughter – whether you're traveling or staying home?
❤️What shared experiences help your daughter grow, strengthen your bond, and give her something meaningful to carry forward in life?
