We’ve listened closely to your feedback — and we’re making a change that puts runner experience and nature protection first.

For KAT100 2026, the loop from Jochberger Wildalm to Teufelssprung and back will no longer be part of the route for the 100 Miles and Endurance Trail courses.

This decision is based on two key reasons:

1. On-Course Experience
Several of you reported that this section felt particularly challenging. While KAT100 is designed to test your limits, we continuously assess the course to ensure it offers a demanding yet balanced race experience.

2. Protecting sensitive alpine nature
The affected section runs through environmentally sensitive terrain. As an event rooted in the Austrian Alps, we feel a strong responsibility to protect these areas and reduce long-term impact.
