Lichtenstein will not finish GP3 Season

Velociudad Driver Management officials have confirmed that Eric Lichtenstein will not participate in the final three races of the 2013 GP3 Series Season. Carlin Motorsport has confirmed Alexander Sims to replace Lichtenstein for the weekend races in Spa-Francorchamps.

After ten races this season, program officials have removed Lichtenstein from his GP3 seat with Carlin, citing that the argentine rookie has not met the goals and benchmarks set by the program for this year.

Lichtenstein is scheduled to report back to Buenos Aires, Argentina next month and meet VDM executives to evaluate where to race in the 2014 season.

A company spokesman stated: “We are disappointed with Eric’s performance this year and we know he shares our frustration. At the end of the day this is a business and we have short and long term expectations which must be met. We look forward to continue working together and remain committed to finding another series in which Eric may continue to develop and grow as a professional driver”.
