Los radios portátiles (handys) tienen a lo sumo una potencia de Radio Frecuencia (RF) de 5 Watts en la banda de VHF y hasta 4 Watts en la banda de UHF. Esto es debido a razones de diseño que obligan a respetar el consumo de las baterías y el peso de las mismas.

Con respecto a las baterías se ha avanzado mucho, pero las potencias de diseño, no han variado, y siguen siendo 5 y 4w. Lo que mejora notablemente es el peso de la batería y la duración de la misma.

Luego tenemos la limitación de la antena. Una antena vertical de ¼ de onda en VHF debería tener una longitud de 50 cm, en la banda de VHF – de 33 cm, en la banda de UHF las antenas de los handys no llegan a 15 cm en VHF y 10 cm en UHF. Todo esto es por razones de comodidad y transporte, si les colocamos antenas más grandes, dejarían de ser portátiles.

El 8 de marzo fue establecido por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) con el objetivo de reivindicar el trabajo por los derechos de las mujeres y promover su participación en los distintos ámbitos de la sociedad para su emancipación. La fecha conmemora a las 129 obreras textiles de la fábrica Cotton de Nueva York, Estados Unidos, que fallecieron en un incendio mientras hacían huelga para mejorar sus condiciones laborales.
