~ Parir en tiempos de pandemia ~

El mundo se detiene y tu hijo va a nacer.

El mundo habla de virus, pandemia, contagio, muerte... pero tu hijo va a nacer .

Y yo veo tu miedo y tu enojo.... por que ahora? Por que cuando tu hijo va a nacer?

Los niños nacen en épocas de guerra, de pandemias, en medio de tornados y terremotos.

La vida puede más, la vida no puede esperar.

Y yo estoy ahí, de tu mano, y ambos me regalan ese instante en que todo es perfecto y nada está mal.

No hay pandemia que te pueda robar ese momento, no tengas miedo, no estes enojada.
En tiempos de pandemia te doy las gracias mujer por ese instante.

Y a vos partera por estar donde debes, por dejar tu casa, solo para tomar esa mano y vivir ese instante.
🙏🏻 quédate en casa para que podamos seguir haciendo nuestro trabajo.

When we expose our children to the most natural life event, we set them up for their own births as adults:
⭐️we create normalization of birth
⭐️we remove fear of birth
⭐️we remove anxiety
⭐️we shorten their own labors
⭐️we lower their rates of needing an epidural
⭐️we lower their requests for a cesarean birth
⭐️we lower their chances of having an emergency cesarean
⭐️we create an overall better chance of our children having empowered, happier and healthier births.

The thoughts we have can create physical and chemical changes in our bodies. There exists a mind-body connection where each affects the other.

When fear occurs during labor, it disrupts our body’s production of the natural cascade of birthing hormones and causes unnecessary tension in the body.
◉
Stress hormones known as catecholamines are produced which crowd out our body’s pain-relieving endorphins, also leading to the experience of increased discomfort.
◉
All these things can tense up the body, produce more pain and can shut down progression, leaving the birther in immense pain without progress.

In the 1920s, Grantley Dick-Read described what has become known as the "Fear-Tension-Pain" cycle. He suggested that fear causes a birther to become tense, and that tension increases pain. The increased pain, in turn, increases fear, and the cycle repeats itself.

We know that reducing fear can decrease pain. So what can you do to reduce fear around birth:
🔹talk about your fears openly
🔹hire a doula
🔹research childbirth
🔹know that childbirth is normal
🔹take a good childbirth class
🔹utilize techniques that reduce tension
🔹get a provider and place of birth that you are comfortable with.
