Arman Tsarukyan is not just sitting around before his fight against Colby Covington.

While on the Ariel Helwani show, Tsarukyan explained that he expects to compete in an RAF event on July 11, one week before his fight with Colby Covington at RAF 11 in Milwaukee.

While the event or opponent hasn't officially been announced yet, it is expected to take place outside of the United States, the first time RAF has held an event outside of the U.S.

Following RAF09, Covintgon was asked if he would be ready to face Arman Tsarukyan at RAF11 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Covtington not only said that he would be ready, but took it as an opportunity to make a point.

“This is Real American Freestyle, not Real Armenian Freestyle.”

Colby said this despite Arman holding the best wrestling record in RAF thus far.

It’s all respect between Arman and Tony Ferguson.

After improving to 5-0 at Real American Freestyle, Tsarukyan was asked about competing against a legend like Ferguson.

“ Tony Ferguson is a big name. When I was starting my UFC career, he was already a legend and he was fighting for the boat. A lot of people know him in Russia and Armenia. He’s so popular and it’s good to have him on my list.”

Arman also spoke about Colby Covington, saying he wants to prove that he is the best MMA wrestler at RAF.

Arman Tsarukyan is predicting domination against Colby Covington at RAF 11 in Milwaukee.

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Tsarukyan didn’t hold back when asked about the matchup:

“He’s gonna be tough for the first two minutes and then he’s going to gas out and I’m going to do my job.”

The UFC lightweight contender has never been shy about his wrestling pedigree, and now, he’s aiming to make another statement outside the octagon against one of MMA’s most outspoken wrestlers.

RAF 11 is set for July 18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as Tsarukyan continues what feels like another wild chapter in his combat sports “side quest” era.

Following Tsarukyan’s 16–5 win over Mugsy at RAF09 in Dallas, Arman did not hold back his words when asked about Paddy Pimblett.

“He has no level to compete with top 5. The UFC pushed him as much as possible, gave him trash cans, he beat them and they gave him a title shot for nothing. Because he’s popular and he can talk, but he’s a piece of sh*t,” Tsarukyan said.

United World Wrestling named Nazaryan its Greco-Roman Wrestler of the Month for May after his dominant gold-medal run at the U17 European Championships.

Nazaryan captured gold with a flawless 5-0 record, outscoring his opponents by a combined 37-0 without conceding a single point.

The Armenian standout defeated opponents from Romania, Moldova, Russia, Italy and Georgia on his way to the title, capped by a 4-0 win in the final.

Arman Tsarukyan says he remains the official backup for the UFC White House card — even though he is booked to compete at RAF 10 one night earlier.

Tsarukyan confirmed the news during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, explaining that if anything happens to the UFC lightweight title fight, he will be ready to step in.

“The situation is, I’m the backup for this fight,” Tsarukyan said. “If something happens, I’m going to fly there, make weight, weigh in and fight.”

Tsarukyan added that RAF would understand if the matchup had to be canceled, noting that him winning a UFC belt would also benefit the promotion.

Tsarukyan is currently scheduled to compete at RAF 10 on June 13, one night before the UFC White House card.

Armenian footballers made their mark across Europe and South America during the 2025/26 club season.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan helped Inter Milan lift the Serie A title and Coppa Italia, continuing to play an important role for the Nerazzurri at 37 years old.

Nair Tiknizyan won a domestic double with Red Star Belgrade, capturing the Serbian SuperLiga and Serbian Cup. The league title was the first of Tiknizyan’s professional career.

Tigran Barseghyan added another Slovak League title with Slovan Bratislava after recording 11 goals and nine assists in 37 appearances.

In Argentina, Lucas Zelarayán captained Belgrano to a historic AFA League championship — the first league title in the Córdoba-based club’s history.

Haik Moussakhanian was part of BATE Borisov’s Belarusian Cup-winning squad, while Artur Garibyan and Arshak Koryan helped FC Rodina win the Russian First League title.

Edmen Shahbazyan returns to the Octagon on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Shahbazyan will face No. 4-ranked middleweight Brendan Allen at the UFC Apex in one of the biggest opportunities of his career.

The 28-year-old Glendale native has won three straight fights, defeating Dylan Budka by knockout, Andre Petroski by decision and Andre Muniz by TKO.

A win over Allen would likely launch Shahbazyan into the UFC middleweight rankings and put him firmly back in the division’s contender conversation.

Shahbazyan, who has been training with UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland, enters the fight as a +180 underdog on DraftKings.
