AMSNS / ՀԼԼԱԴ From September 2024, Up The Rocks club has transformed into Armenian Mountaineering and Skiing National School, after 16 years of its journey.

Stay tuned with us for theoretical and practical classes, and as well to follow our team on our action projects! Up The Rocks club was established on January 5, 2008 by a group of enthusiasts with a strong motivation to develop rock climbing, mountaineering and backcountry skiing culture in Armenia. Right from the beginning our main objective has been to keep the rock climbing ethics and gratitude

to the nature. We have been organizing “Arev” Armenian Rock Climbing Festivals on 2009, 2011 and 2013. One significant work of us is considered to be the document “Rock Climbing Ethics and Standards in Armenia”. In 2013 Armenian Alpine Club was found by moral support of Up The Rocks, in order to supply more efficient and coordinated way of development of Mountain Activities in the country. Our mine Inspiration to move forward, when the climbing was nearly on zero level, has been Basalt Columns Natural Monuments of Armenia. These rock formations are very unique and have magic power you can feel. They change their color during the day, reflecting the color of the sky. Those rocks are the symbol of our Club, even when the climbing is shut down currently on them for very meaningful reasons.

At the beginning of this September, with Sepp Vogel from Germany, we bolted an easy 80m multi pitch line in Noravank canyon. "The Bird's Way" 4 pitches, 5b.
We cleaned the upper half of the rock too but didn't have enough hardware with us to finish it. That will be another 70m, 3 pitches about 6b max.
