History o
f TaekwoDo and AfghanITF Academy in Afghanistan:
TaekwonDo was first introduced by the professor of Kabul University; engineering faculty; who had returned from United States just cause of the university students and for those who are interested in Taekwondo. The first TEAMWORK club was inaugurated by Full Kongham in the Center of Kabul Science Faculty; in 1352. At the beginning of club; the persons who had been accompanying him were mostly from the Kabul University; Engineering Faculty; these were the essential persons that had been started the sport in Afghanistan for the first time. Later they had been known as the clues of martial Arts in Afghanistan. Ustad Huriya Khail had got the Black belt and then opened independent clubs in various areas of Kabul, like: Bagh Shahr Ara, Intercontinental Hotel, Kabul University, and Amani High School. And this process continued until the year of 1363, when a group of the bests in sport in Amani High School founded different clubs and started to work in this field collectively. They opened clubs in Amani High School, Kabul Medical University, and some other places. Since 1364, they had been working independently and they also expanded their struggling for introducing sports to Afghans in Helmand, Parwan, Mazar e Sharif, Herat, and Ghazni. Those who had really worked tirelessly in this phase were people like: Ustad Engineer Mohammad Reza Yousufi, Ustad Abdul Hamid Madadi, and Ustad Mohammad Anwar Yousufi. For the first time the exhibition and competition were purposed to be held in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan by the National Olympic Committee and they were the first team from the Taekwondo that had left Afghanistan for Tajikistan. In 1371 we had got good achievements from the competitions, returned back to Afghanistan with medals and appreciated letters. When the civil war started this group damaged, and during the civil war; the ITF members were compelled for migration t other countries and by struggling; they established clubs in other countries where they could exercise. And some of the trainees were enrolled in national competitions and hung up or received medals of championship in their necks. Some of them had very good achievements in Peshawar Pakistan; almost around 300 people were trained in Keota, Rawalpindi, Delhi and some other areas. After the fall of the Taliban regime, the members who were to other countries returned back home, like Ustad Hamid Madadi from Netherlands, Engineer Mohammad Reza Yousufi from Germany and Dr Anwar Yousufi. They were the only persons that after a lot of struggling managed to establish a new club in 1384 with some and started exercising Martial Arts in Kabul. The first club was established by them in Khushal Khan Meena, and with a great deal of other students who were interested to or wanted to exercise; finally they had opened a new club in 13th district of Kabul city. In this club; around 150 trainees were joined the training and started to exercise in different timings from whom 12 had got their DAN Degree one and two. Many of them had got the red, blue and green belts. Since 1381, there had been started struggling to encourage the girls for exercising Martial Arts and getting involved in sports and finally; many girls welcomed this opportunity and got enrolled in this training program. Now there are around 45 girls being trained in the club and some are ready for the trans-national competitions. I can name Saeed Ali, who went to India with the convoy of ITF from the National Olympics Committee and achieved or got two medals, a gold medal and a silver medal. It was really a function of proud and action of appreciating for all Afghans around the world. for more information contact us at [email protected] or visit our website www.afghanitfacademy.com
