Body Tune Fitness Abu Dhabi (BTFAD) provides Personal Training sessions matched to your own fitness goals. Whether you wish to improve your endurance levels; increase your strength and re-shape your body or just want to improve your general health (fighting off diabetes, hypertension or obesity), BTFAD can offer you an effective, safe way to reach your goal either in your own home or at your commu

nity gym. BTFAD is able to offer the following types of training:-

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) – a proven way for people short on time to torch fat by increasing cardiovascular fitness and speeding up your metabolism. HIIT features short bursts of intense ‘bodyweight’ activity followed by a short recovery period, before you go all over again! The best part? Your metabolism stays elevated for up to 38 hours afterwards (which leads to more calories burnt!)

Core Training – the core is responsible for maintaining a strong, stable position whilst carrying out any other activity. A weak core can lead to problems such as a bad back, poor balance or reduced performance in a sporting activity. Core training is not simply about “getting a six pack”; core training targets and strengthens the muscles deep inside the body which provides a strong basis for all other movement in your life. Metabolic Resistance Training (MRT) – a very tough but effective way to improve your strength and endurance at the same time. Using weights (or other types of resistance), you will carry out intense sets of exercise that will ‘disturb’ your metabolism causing changes long after you've stopped exercising for the day as your body tries to recover. An MRT session will consist of ‘super sets’ or ‘tri-sets’ (performed straight after each other with no rest) or ‘complexes’ (different sets where the weight does not leave the athlete’s hands in between). Kettlebell Training – one of the most effective ways to develop dynamic, total body, functional strength (strength for the real world.) The Kettlebell looks like a ten-pin bowling ball with a hooped handle and can deliver a tough workout that develops cardiovascular fitness, strength and flexibility. Resistance Training – using weights, machines, cables or body weight to increase the strength of the muscles. Plyometrics – for anyone wishing to develop their explosive power for a sport or event. Also known as ‘jump training’. Sports-specific training – exercises to improve agility, balance and coordination specific to your sport. TRAINING LOCATION

You will need to identify a suitable venue where the training will take place and this needs to be appropriate for your fitness goals. This can be at your home, an outdoor space or at your community gym. If training at a gym please ensure that the management company allow you to bring in an external Personal Trainer. ONE-TO-ONE PERSONAL TRAINING RATES

You can try a free ‘ taster session’ before signing up to a block of sessions. Beforehand, you will need to complete a questionnaire identifying your current health status (including medical/injury background), relevant lifestyle factors, exercise experience and your fitness goals.

300AED for one-off sessions
2800 for 12 sessions (2 per week)
2400 for 12 sessions (3 per week)

ONE-TO-TWO PERSONAL TRAINING (COUPLES/FRIENDS) RATES

It is possible to train with your husband/wife or with a friend, IF your fitness goals are the same or similar. Prices are per couple.

500 AED for one-off sessions
5000 for 12 sessions (2 per week)
4000 for 12 sessions (3 per week)

Day 6.

Weight 86 kg

I've spent the last 6 days properly rehydrating so I think this is now a 'proper' weight so 3kg gone in 6 days.

Main difference is clothes hanging off me already after feeling really tight only 7 days ago! No more bloated feelings after ditching carbs. Feels fantastic after a very stuffed and bloated summer!

Good trip to the track last night with Caroline (my wife) to do 4 steady laps. The exercise won't be contributing much to the fat loss though - that's almost solely to get fit.

Day 4.

Weigh 85.2kg (proper weight - not when just back from sweaty exercise!) so lost 4kg in 4 days.

*HOWEVER* when your body stores carbs it also stores water so by removing the stored carbs I'm also removing a lot of stored water so this leads to significant weight loss. It doesn't necessarily mean I'm losing body fat....YET! But it's a good sign. Still have around 5kg to lose though.

11:45 am - still not hungry in the slightest.

Cup of tea; full fat milk and half sachet of steviana.

Day 3.

No breakfast. Coffee; full fat milk; 1/2 sachet steviana
**Not hungry in the slightest so definitely starting to move towards ketosis (body using fat as the main energy source)** Happens much quicker if you don't consume grape or hop beverages!
11:30am. Still not hungry! Ketosis is starting. The body fat loss happens due to only eating when you're hungry. It's how human bodies work! They've evolved to be able to go a long time with no food - because that's how life on earth used to be. Starchy carbs didn't feature much in the diet of the caveman ... just saying.

40k bike ride. Very hot and very windy. Time is very slow - lost a lot of fitness. Weight after bike ride = 85kg (down 4kg in 3 days but a lot of that will be water!).
