FC Strikers, founded in 2010 by a group of young Indians living in United Arab Emirates, was the result of the increasing popularity of football across India & UAE. These origins have conferred upon the Club its intercultural identity, multi-sport focus and its deeply-rooted allegiance to Indo Arabic Culture. The foundation of the Club coincided with a time when Indians were becoming interested in
playing football in UAE; this social context and idiosyncratic culture led to the creation of a new team of modern football. Moahammed Rafeeque, Zulfikar Ali, Mohammed Faiz, Jameel, Ajesh and Jomi Kuriakose are the Club’s founders. They are the inspiration and driving force behind the Club’s first 3 years. Their commitment to FC Strikers went far beyond their role as players and managers. They all arrived in UAE for professional reasons. During their free time, they played football with a group of friends in Dubai and Sharjah. It was in October 2010, they found players interested in forming a football team. On 29 November, They with 6 other men (Ajesh, Phyo, ) came together to form an association that paid tribute to the city’s name and coat of arms: FC Strikers Sharjah (FCSS). Team FCSS aimed to create an organisation that was open to everyone, regardless of their origin. They envisaged a club that served as a means of social integration, in which everyone could speak their mind, and he created a democratic society that was freely governed by its members. As a sign of its gratitude to UAE, the country that had welcomed them, FCS imbued Sharjah with the essence that has come to define it ever since: its commitment to Sharjah identity. FC Strikers rose to fame with the hosting of their first Super Cup Football tournament in Dubai. It was well organised with 24 Teams competing for the Reputed Cup and this event saw the appearance of some well known Indian National Players like I M Vijayan. Ever since FCS received recognition from the UAE football world, there was no looking back. They have participated in large number of tournaments in various parts of UAE and have bagged Titles and Cups in many of these events. Currently FCSS has grown to a full fledged Football club with more than 50 active members pursuing its ambitious legacy.
