Throwback to the beginning of the year — walking into Dive Tribe Dubai and meeting a room full of curious, eager students was such a great experience. 🤿 What a beautiful way to start the year. ✨

This is what it’s all about. Pilates isn’t just a workout — it’s a tool that supports you in everything you do. Whether you’re underwater, on a court, on a trail, or simply moving through life, the strength, breath, and awareness you build on the mat travel with you everywhere.

To everyone who is just starting their journey — stay with it. Life is going to happen. It always does. But here’s what I know for sure: the seed you plant never gets lost. It waits for you. And when you need it most — when your body calls for stability, breath, and control — it will answer.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to begin. 🌱

Many women hold themselves together by gripping.
👉🏻The jaw. 👉🏻The belly. 👉🏻The shoulders. 👉🏻The breath.

It feels like control. It feels like strength.

But gripping is not support.

Real support comes from deeper layers — and breath is the key to accessing them.

In Pilates, breath is not passive. It’s structural.

When you learn how to breathe properly during movement, your body begins to organise itself differently:
- your ribs move more freely,
- your spine gains better support,
- your deep abdominals respond more naturally,
and tension stops taking over areas that were never meant to carry the load.

This becomes especially important when life changes the body:

pregnancy, stress, hormonal shifts, fatigue, injury, or simply years of compensation and adaptation.

💡Breath teaches the body how to support itself from deeper layers.

And eventually, this carries into life outside the studio too:
how you respond under pressure,
how you regulate stress,
how you recover,
and how you stay present when life feels overwhelming.

Your breathing pattern tells a story about how your body is coping.

Pilates helps rewrite that story. 🤍

Take a moment to reflect before you step fully into this new month. ✨

Pause and acknowledge everything you have achieved over the last 9 months — your consistency, your resilience, and your ability to keep moving forward, even through life’s challenges.

How are you feeling in your body?
How is your mind feeling?
Have you grown stronger?
Were there moments when life pulled you away from yourself?
What awareness or “aha” moments have you gained along the way?
And where do you want to be in the next few months?

This pause matters.

Sometimes, we become so focused on what is still missing that we forget to acknowledge the beautiful work we have already done.

If you are feeling powerful, motivated, and unstoppable — amazing. 👏🏻
And if you feel like you have lost momentum and need to begin again, that is okay too.

Pilates reminds us that we can always return.
One breath.
One movement.
One practice at a time.

This is your journey.
Your practice.
Your growth.

Happy Heavenly Birthday to a beautiful mover ✨

There is not a day that goes by when we do not think of you — your tenacity in sport, your beautiful mind, your kind heart, and the way you moved through life with such spirit.

Your presence is deeply missed within our community, yet your memory continues to live on in so many hearts.

« Having been passionate about sports all my life, I resumed long-distance running at the age of 37. With a midlife crisis looming, I participated in 10 marathons over the next three years, including ultra-marathons such as the 89 km Comrades Race through the hills of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

At the end of my third running season, I suffered from third-degree Achilles tendonitis. Injections and shockwave therapy only marginally supported what became a slow and frustrating healing process.

For the following year, I spent most of my time cycling, trying to retain as much of the fitness I had gained from running. More talented as a cyclist than as a runner, and with a little swimming added to the mix, duathlons and triathlons, including Ironman distances, were next on the list. Semi-recovered from the Achilles injury, I soon found my hopes and ambitions for greater performance spoiled once again by hamstring injuries.

Desperate and discouraged, I followed my wife’s advice and booked a Pilates session at Jeanique’s studio. Her professionalism, enthusiasm, dedication, and absolute client focus inspired me immediately.

After following up with my physiotherapist, Jeanique quickly understood my injuries, their origin, their interrelation, and how to approach them mindfully and effectively, step by step. Since then, Jeanique’s Pilates sessions have become a key part of my weekly exercise regime and have helped me return to podium positions. »
