Today, many years later, it is one of the premier off-road Adventure Clubs in the Middle East. The club organizes multiple, family-friendly events each week, which range from self-driven rallies, adventure trips, expedition trips, and overnight camping & BBQ trips. The club is open to everyone of any skill level from pure first-timers to advance ones. The club fosters an atmosphere of camaraderie where professionalism and safety are paramount. Jehanbaz (Jum) Ali Khan (born in Torquay, UK) a lifetime spent in motorsport, as a rally driver and as an organizer of off-road and cross-country rallies.
He was appointed by the FIA as a Steward or Official Observer on several Paris-Dakar rallies as well as in World Cup TT Rallies in Morocco, Tunisia, Portugal, Argentina, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Georgia, Greece, Syria and Jordan. .
He was formerly the Route Director of the UAE, now Abu Dhabi, Desert Challenge and currently Chairman of Stewards of the Asia Cross-Country Rally.
A former Motoring Correspondent and writer for Gulf News Friday magazine in UAE and other motoring publications. He is also the Route Director of the Gulf News Fun Drive.
Jum lived, first in retirement in Thailand where he was a charter member of Patong Beach Lions Club and a member of the Royal Thailand Tourist Police Foreign Volunteers group.
The last few years, with progressing dementia, were spent with his daughter Kim in UK.
