đ 5 Rules for Building a Lasting Fitness Habit
1. Start Small
Donât set a goal like âwork out for an hour 5 times a week.â Begin with 10â15 minutes, but do it consistently. This removes the mental barrier.
2. Anchor It to an Existing Habit
For example: âRight after my morning coffee â 10 squatsâ or âAfter work â a 20-minute walk.â The brain remembers new habits better when theyâre linked to old ones.
3. Make It as Easy as Possible
Gym too far? Start at home. No dumbbells? Use water bottles. The fewer obstacles, the higher the chance youâll stick to it.
4. Focus on the Process, Not Just the Results
âI work out because I want to feel energizedâ works better than âI want abs in 2 weeks.â Results will come, but habits form through enjoyment.
5. Celebrate Small Wins Daily
Check off workouts, log your steps, praise yourself. The brain loves rewards â and this strengthens the habit.
