Homogeneity within a complex system accelerates change and heterogeneity decelerates change.⁣
⁣
Now, Im going to make a logical leap here and say that this ALSO applies to fitness in this way: ⁣
⁣
The more regularity, consistency, regimented, and "same-ness" your day to day routine has - the MORE you can 𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄 change TO your physical fitness (lose more fat, gain more muscle, get more fit, get stronger etc). ⁣
⁣
The more CHANGE your day to day routine has the more you 𝐃𝐄𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄 fitness results. ⁣
⁣
The psycho-social dimension to this comes in the poisonous accumulation of boredom :) ⁣
⁣
Which is why I am constantly trying to get my clients to train hard enough and diet hard enough 5-6 days of the week so they can COMPLETELY take off from diet and exercise on the weekends. ⁣
