acing experience essential for a driver’s development. ORTP is undoubtedly comprised of the best karters/racers in the country. Several of the team’s drivers, after getting their start with the team, have gone on to race in the higher levels of motorsport including junior formula open wheel single-seaters, touring car and GT championships and are currently racing in various circuit racing series across the world. Omni Racing Team Pakistan is solely owned, managed and led by Syed Ovais Naqvi and its main purpose is to providing young Pakistani drivers and motorsport enthusiasts with a platform to learn race craft and develop their motor racing skills. ORTP aims to assist in the development of aspiring racecar drivers from Pakistan providing them with the basic skills, training and experience of racing needed to move on to the higher tiers of international motorsport. ORTP was formed by Syed Ovais Naqvi in February 2004 under the name Xtreme Velocity Racing to participate in the first karting race of any kind in Pakistan. This race was a 12-hour endurance event and was not only the first experience for all of the team’s drivers in any form of organized motor racing but it was the first time any of the team’s drivers had ever driven a go-kart. After that the team participated in the first two races of the Dubai Endurance Karting Championship 2006 which were grueling 24-hour, 1000 km endurance karting races and the Pakistan National Karting Championship 2007. Since the name has changed to Omni Racing Team Pakistan and the team has continued to grow and added new drivers. It has gone on to become the oldest functioning and most experienced karting team of Pakistan having participated in national and international karting races. The first and only Pakistani team till now to participate in the Dubai Endurance Karting Championship, it is also the only karting team from Pakistan to have participated in international events of such a high level and magnitude and that too on CIK approved race circuit. Amongst a field of 20 international teams the team finished in commendable positions of 12th and 13th in the two Dubai races. The team was given a special prize and trophy by the race organizers in recognition for a very commendable and competitive performance. It is the only Pakistani auto-racing team of any kind to bring home a trophy from an international racing event. Recently the team won Round 2 of the Pakistan National Karting Championship 2007 and finished in a very strong 3rd position overall in the Championship. The team has been one of the pioneers and one of the main driving forces behind motorsports in Pakistan. It has provided the entry into motorsports and been the stepping stone for numerous Pakistani motor racing enthusiasts. It has been responsible for giving the first opportunity at international and national racing to aspiring Pakistani race car drivers and has in fact served as the breeding ground for professional race car drivers from Pakistan. It has been the galvanizing force that has provided them with the vision and an avenue through which they can aim to further their motor racing aspirations and ambitions. In fact the winners of the last three karting races held in Pakistan have all gotten their start with the team and began their karting/racing careers under the guidance of Syed Ovais Naqvi. Some of team’s drivers are professionally qualified race car drivers who have completed international professional racing courses such as the prestigious and world-renowned international, professional Formula BMW Race Licensing Course, and the Skip Barber Racing School and have the FIA international racing licenses as well as the FIA international karting license. In addition to the main team, Omni Racing Team Pakistan has evolved to add two junior teams under its banner known as ORTP-Pro and ORTP-Jrs. thus incorporating a three tier system for grooming, developing and training talented Pakistani karters. ORTP-Pro is one of the two junior teams part of Omni Racing Team Pakistan. It brings together some of the best karters at the national level who have yet to gain international exposure. ORTP-Pro aims to provide the final touches in a driver’s skills and experience at the national level before moving them up into the ORTP team for international races. is one of the other two junior teams part of Omni Racing Team Pakistan. It brings together some of the youngest talented karters in the country. aims to provide the stepping stone into motorsports for aspiring race car drivers. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for budding racing enthusiasts to learn the basics of karting and start their racing career. Membership to the Omni Racing Team Pakistan club is open to all legal residents of Pakistan irrespective of age, gender, or nationality. However being selected to represent any one of the ORTP teams is based purely on merit and determined by racing skills, experience, knowledge, fitness, attitude and teamwork.
