We have a triple whammy of EVENTS this weekend.

June 21 is recognised as International Yoga Day. This year, due to social distancing measures adopted by most countries, the theme set by the United Nations is “Yoga for Health – Yoga at Home”.

While social distancing measures have shut down yoga studios in many countries, practitioners have turned to home practice. The theme highlights that is a powerful tool to deal with stress of uncertainty and isolation and helps maintaining physical well-being.

The year of 2020 has been unprecedented right from the start of the decade, with the Covid-19 outbreak, fire outbreaks, airplane crashes, locust swarms and cyclones. The pandemic has shown us the importance of immunity and healthy living. Yoga is something that brings these qualities together.

The 'ring of fire' solar eclipse of this Sunday, is what is known as an annular eclipse, in which the moon does not completely cover the sun as it passes between the star and Earth as seen from our planet. Instead, a ring of sunlight will still shine around the outer edge, hence its nickname: a "ring of fire" eclipse.

This year Summer Solstice actually has fallen on Saturday 20th June (usually 21st June).
On this day we celebrate the SUN, FIRE, and where the energies of the earth are at their peak. This day is the perfect time to PAUSE and reflect on everything you’ve learned so far this year, as well as reviewing and clarifying your focus for the rest of 2020 (which may be completely different to what you’d imagined!)
