Before VS Now...

When I arrived in Dubai, Judo was not really a sport that people knew. Brazilian jujitsu is more famous, but not Judo.

These 2 sports are linked, as you need skills in Judo to practice Jujitsu.

Some Jujitsu teachers joined my classes to improve their skills and they also bring some of their students to help them into their Jujitsu practices.

It's a beautiful help we bring to each other, by learning from both of our passions : like this, Judo can be a bit more known by people. And it's already more known than a few years ago.

THROWBACK OF THE WEEK 🔙

I like to look back in time to realize how things change.

My goal is to help my students to improve their skills in Judo. I teach classes with this mindset.

Learn the technics first, repeat it, use these technics in different situations, and then, get to use them during a fight.

Step by step, they are able to defend themselves because they put in practice what they've learnt at the beginning, through all kind of other situation.

And just like that - I see them becoming more dynamic in their practices.

LEARN WITH THE BEST, AND TAKE EXAMPLE FROM THEM.

In Judo, and in my life, one of my conviction is to learn from the best and those who already succeed in what you do.

In my opinion, it's the best way to improve your skills, learning, and becoming even better than you were before.

NO PAIN - NO GAIN 🤙

Like a lot of things in life, if you want to progress, you need to train.

When you start to practice Judo, you need to repeat the movement again and again to be able to master it.

And even when you become black belt you need to do the same : this is the best way to learn and become a performant judoka.

IS JUDO A DEFENSIVE SPORT ? 👇

A lot of people tend to think that Judo is a defensive sport, but it's not.

Judo is an attack sport. Jigoro Kano created Judo as a system of unarmed combat.

The goal in a judo fight is to throw your opponent on his back by using technics. Not to defend yourself.

In competition, if you're not attacking you will be penalized by the referee.

So now, if someone asks you if Judo is an attack practice, tell them it's not 😉

We are slowly approaching summer holidays for kids, however Judo sessions won't stop through July and August, so new guests are always welcomed to join us at anytime they like for Judo.

''Don't worry about failure. Worry about the chances you miss when you don't even try.''

Every weeks I set up my goal to help me to grow and progress in my different activities.

This week, I'll try :
• Practice a session of sport every day
• Pay more attention to my health and diet.
• Learning new skills
• Teach a ne skill to my students that they can use in their daily life.

Maybe I won't do it all, but I'll do my best. As the quote says, if you don't try, you can't expect success.

MY EVERYDAY'S MOTIVATION 👊

I love what I do in life and that make my everyday's motivation.

Teaching kids in Judo has been an amazing and inspirational journey because I see them grow in their Judoka personality.

Through this sport, I teach them what's Judo, how to practice that, but also all the values that comes along the way.

I'm like ''mission completed'' when I see them doing better and better ✅
