China honestly shocked me in ways I didn’t expect.

From trains that feel better than flights,
to nails that cost less than lunch,
to yogurt you DRINK with a straw,
to literal pet airport terminals…

Everything felt advanced, clean, efficient —
and then BOOM… a latrine.

I loved it.
I was confused.
I was impressed.
I was humbled.

China said: “You think you’ve seen things?” 😂

✨ For years I’ve been working, overworking, chasing this 2-year timeline of leaving the 9-to-5.

But this last contract… it’s tested me in ways I never imagined. For the first time, I’ve truly felt the weight of microaggressions and that subtle hostility that chips away at your confidence and mental health. And the most surprising part? It didn’t even come from where you’d expect.

As a contractor, you stand in a fragile place — less protection, fewer rights, and speaking up requires a lot of wisdom. It’s draining trying to balance protecting yourself with just getting the job done.

This season has shown me the real cost of “security” in corporate life. And I know for sure — I’m not built to stay stuck here.

I’m determined. I’m done. I’m leaving 9-to-5 behind for good.
