With Elite Committee Support, UAE Juniors Head to Cairo for BWF World Junior Championships
DUBAI, 3 October 2026 — The UAE junior badminton team has departed for Cairo to compete in the 2026 BWF World Junior Championships, with the support of the Elite Committee, as part of the Federation’s efforts to strengthen the international exposure of its emerging players.
The UAE squad comprises Riyan Malhan, Adam Jeslin, Adithya Kiran, Sakshi Prakash, Mysha Omer and Vaidehi Kalidasan, under the supervision of Michael Noerbaek, High Performance Manager at the UAE Badminton Federation. The delegation is scheduled to return to the UAE on 15 October.
The participation carries added technical significance, with several UAE players holding strong positions in the October junior world rankings. Riyan Malhan is ranked World No. 2 in junior men’s singles with 14,075 points, while Adam Jeslin is ranked No. 24 with 8,435 points, reflecting the UAE players’ growing competitive level ahead of the individual events.
Salem Al Mazrouei, Vice President of the UAE Badminton Federation, said: “The World Junior Championships represent an important stage for our young players. We look forward to strong performances that reflect their international progress and to using this event as another step in developing a generation capable of competing at major championships.”
