Tyre Compounds 𐃏
—————————————————————
Have you ever thought about what different types of tyres are available, and what the difference between them is? Keep reading to find out more!
▪️ Soft Compound Tyres ▪️
Soft compound tyres are made from 'soft materials' and last for approximately 10,000km, but this is dependent on their usage and road condtions. However, soft compound tyres have a high level of grip! If your tyre has '200' written on the tyre wall, it is more than likely a soft compound tyre. These tyres are ideal for racing, and you can even get super soft compound tyres with even more grip!
▪️ Medium Compound Tyres ▪️
Medium compound tyres are the most common tyre that comes with a car from factory, unless you are purchasing a sports car. They have a longer lifespan than soft compound tyres, but less grip on the road. If the treadwear rating is close to or greater than 300, it is more than likely a medium compound tyre.
▪️ Hard Compound Tyres ▪️
Hard compound tyres have the longest lifespan, but the least grip out of all tyre types. These tyres are difficult to find as they are not commonly required.
