Everybody loves money but only a few know what it is really made up of. Do you?
A common misconception is that a currency note is made out of paper but in fact, it is a blend of cotton and linen. So it’s actually more of a cloth than paper! This is also the reason why currency notes don’t tear up like normal paper when they are accidentally put into a washing machine.
Of course, the exact composition of the cloth is highly classified, as is the formula for the ink, to avoid counterfeiting of the notes.
Bet you didn't know that!
