From Learning to Serving: My AKF Referee B Journey

It is a great honor to share that I have successfully passed the Referee B examination of the Asian Karate Federation (AKF) during the 24th AKF Championship – Cadet, Junior & U21, held in Amman, Jordan. 🥋🇯🇴

Being part of the officiating panel during the championship was a valuable experience that helped me further develop my skills and gave me a greater vision of how I can continue to support and help athletes in their journey.

The camaraderie among the officials, from experienced leaders to newly certified referees, was truly inspiring. The warm welcome and genuine hospitality of the Jordanian people and their culture made this experience even more meaningful.

Sincere thanks to the Asian Karate Federation, its officials, and the Jordan Karate Federation for opening this door of opportunity for learning, growth, and service to the sport. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to learn from and work alongside officials from different countries.

My sincere thanks to the UAE Karate Federation Referee Team, under the leadership of Captain Jaber, especially Captain Amina, and to Sir Chino for his inspiration and guidance during my exam. Thank you also to Captain Naser and Mozhgan for your support.

Most especially, thank you to Mhar Cruz, Sensei, Maria Corazon Felexmeña Leyda, Ranz Cruz, Fritz Pundavela, and Zach Hashlee for helping me and doing your best to take good care of Bushido while I was away.

And to Sensei Mhar, thank you for everything you have done for me, for your support, and for standing by me throughout this journey. I truly appreciate you. ❤️

To my family, students, parents, mentors, colleagues, and everyone who trusted and supported me—this achievement is shared with all of you.

This experience has been more than an achievement; it has been a journey of learning, growth, friendship, and a renewed purpose to serve the sport and help more athletes.

🥋 United by Karate: Joint Training at Bushido

On September 6, 2026, the Bushido Karate Team, headed by our Chief Instructor Zigomar Cruz, Sensei, proudly hosted a special Joint Karate Training at the Bushido Dojo together with Senshikan JKA, under the leadership of Geffrey Won, Sensei, and the International Shotokan Karatedo Federation, under the leadership of Lee Belo, Sensei.

The training brought karatekas from different clubs together to exchange knowledge, sharpen techniques, experience different training approaches, and strengthen friendship and unity within the karate community.

After the training, the camaraderie continued as the Sensei's gathered for a shared dinner, with everyone bringing and enjoying different dishes together. It was a wonderful opportunity to relax, share stories and laughter, get to know one another beyond the dojo, and strengthen the friendships built through karate. 🥋🍽️🤝

We are sincerely grateful to the Senseis and karatekas from our fellow clubs for sharing their knowledge, experience, and passion for karate with us.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to our supportive parents and passionate karatekas who continue to recognize the beauty and benefits of karate—not only as a martial art, but as a way of life that develops discipline, respect, confidence, friendship, and strong character.

We look forward to more opportunities to train together, learn from one another, share meaningful moments, and build lasting friendships through our passion for karate.
