Today, ZDF Queens officially presented and received their trophies and medals they won at the Find the Ball Tournament in Botswana in July to the patron of the team, Secretary for Defence Cde Aaron DT Nhepera, at Defence House.
It was a remarkable event where the club staff and players got to meet their patron.
In his address, the patron paid tribute to the team for their resilience and tenacity that has seen them score remarkable achievements in the past years, including back-to-back championships, a silver medal in the COSSANA tournament in Namibia and their latest achievement in Botswana.
"I commend you for a job well done as I also implore you to maintain this standard into the future.
"We owe it to your tenacicty, resilience and dedication that you won the 2025 championships and the Botswana Find the Ball Tournament without dropping a point, a record breaking achievement that you would need to sustain into the future.
" Your winning record is ample testimony to the Ministry of Defence's gender equity and empowerment efforts," he said.
The event saw the team's members led by stand in Captain Salma Dani Hajji receiving their medals and the two award winners Sharon Bwanali and Tanaka Makusha being honoured.
