CHAIRMAN'S FOOTBALL DEDICATION AWARD CEREMONY 2023!
The Award Ceremony for the 2023 Women's Footaball Development Award being posthomously awarded to the Late, Legendary Women's Footaball Guru Mr J T Munemo is set for the 7th of December 2023 at the ZIFA Offices, 66 Bishop Gaul, Milton Park in Harare from 09:45hrs to 1040hrs.
Through an immense passion and dedication for women football development, Mr T Munemo founded CYCLONE STARS FOOTBALL CLUB in 1998 in the high density of football, MBARE. The mission was to encorage young girls and women from impoverished and broken families to escape poverty and eke a living through football. Importantly, his intervention greatly assisted a number of young girls to abstain from drug and substance abuse, teenage marriages and pregnancy, and prostitution.
CYCLONE STARS FC through their development partnership with Vainona High School, managed to produce some great players who represented the country in various stages, tournaments and competitions. In 2011 & 2012 Vainona High School won the Girls Cola Trophy with their then captain Greater Bhande awarded the Player of the Tournament consecutively. Some of the girls had the opportunity to participate in the Sports Exchange Program under the Sports and Recreation Commission Zimbabwe in Oslo, Norway.
Mr Munemo's contribution in the development of womem football in the country and beyond was invaluable and will forever be cherished. It is indeed a great privilege as Tinmahn Sports together with our partners, PanJap Motors and Zimbabwe Football Association Football to honour him posthomously.
We are therefore imploring all football stakeholders to come and help us honour a true legend, hero and icon of Zimbabwean Women Football.
