A player who was once described as a "Mixture of Xavi and Iniesta" has retired from active football aged 28.
Charly Musonda Jr, the Belgian who was also compared to Eden Hazard has announced his retirement after reflecting on his career.
"It's not easy but it's something I've been thinking about for a long time. After reflecting on my experiences and who I am, I've realised I want to live with purpose to inspire and motivate others," he said.
Charly Jr was the most sought after teenager in 2012 and signed for Chelsea alongside his two brothers Tika and Lamisha Musonda.
Injuries however restricted Musonda's game time and saw him being loaned to clubs such as Vitesse, Real Betis and celtic.
Charly Jr also played for Levante and Cypriot side Anorthosis Fermagusta.
He represented Belgium at youth level from the Under 15 to the Under 21s.
Several Attempts by the Zambian FA to lure the Belgian star to play for the Chipolopolo were unsuccessful.
His Father Charles Musonda Senior is a former Zambian International.
