On 29th August 2007, the Zambian football family lost one of its finest talents, Chaswe Nsofwa, who tragically passed away during a training match in Israel while representing the Malaysian side, Telekom Malaysia against Hapoel Be'er Sheva. Today, 19 years since his passing, his legacy at Zanaco Football Club remains forever etched in our history.

A striker, Nsofwa first starred for Zanaco from 1999 to 2002 before earning a move to Russia's Krylia Sovetov. He returned to wear the red and black from 2003 to 2004, later featuring for Green Buffaloes before taking his talent to Malaysia.

During his golden era with Zanaco, he helped secure back-to-back double trophies:

A proven winner and a true icon of the club, Chaswe’s contribution to Zanaco will never be forgotten.

Earlier today, we hosted Nkwazi Football Club in a friendly match at Sunset Stadium, which ended 1–0 in our favour.

Sama Luzeka scored the only goal of the match to secure the victory for the Bankers.
