St Francis Bay Nippers Founded in 2023, SFB Nippers is a youth program operating under Summerstrand Surf Lifesaving Club (SSLC).

We have over 80 nippers, ranging from ages 5 to 14, who are learning vital beach safety, teamwork, and lifesaving skills 🌊 Founded in 2023, St Francis Bay Nippers is a dedicated youth program operating under the umbrella of the Summerstrand Surf Lifesaving Club (SSLC). Our program is designed to equip young people with essential skills in beach and ocean safety, ensuring they have the knowledge to

navigate our coastal environment responsibly. Through hands-on training, they learn the fundamentals of sea safety, basic first aid techniques, and the vital principles of lifesaving. The SFB Nippers program not only builds their physical abilities and confidence but also instills a strong sense of community responsibility, preparing them to become the future protectors of our beaches. We’re proud to have over 80 enthusiastic nippers registered in our program, ranging from ages 5 to 14. These young participants are learning vital beach safety, teamwork, and lifesaving skills, preparing them to become the next generation of ocean heroes. Another massive THANK YOU to the incredible Rotary Club of St Francis for officially handing over our brand-new equipment trailer! This isn't just a trailer; it's a mobile storage unit that gives us the freedom to grow and train the next generation of lifesavers.

The energy at the handover was electric, with over 80 enthusiastic Nippers celebrating this milestone! We were thrilled to welcome Rotary representatives Lesley DeJager, Sam Verbaan, and Ivan Beaumont to see our nippers in action!

Calling all future Lifeguards! Nippers is Back!

Get ready for sun, sand, and surf! Nippers season has officially kicked off in St Francis Bay, and we're looking for new recruits to join the fun.

The Nippers program is for ages 8-14, teaching kids essential water safety, surf awareness, and first aid skills in a fun, active environment. For the little ones, our Micro's program welcomes kids aged 5-7 to get a head start on beach safety.

Join us on the beach every Saturday from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM for training sessions. It's a fantastic way for kids to build confidence, make new friends, and become part of our incredible community.

A Huge Thank You to Rotary Club of St Francis!

The St Francis Bay Nippers club is absolutely thrilled to extend a massive thank you to the St Francis Bay Rotary for their incredibly generous donation! This gift has allowed us to purchase a much-needed trailer to transport our equipment for training sessions and competitions.

Our club, founded in 2023 and operating under the Summerstrand Surf Lifesaving Club (SSLC), is powered by a dedicated team of local volunteers. These passionate individuals give their time freely to teach young people from ages 5 to 14 vital skills in beach and ocean safety. We currently have over 80 enthusiastic nippers learning everything from basic first aid and sea safety to essential lifesaving principles.

The support from St Francis Bay Rotary helps us continue our mission and makes the work of our volunteers so much easier. You’re not just helping our club; you're helping us build a safer community and prepare the next generation of ocean heroes. 🛟🏊🏼‍♂️🛟

With an incredible community turnout, loads of laughs, and some seriously tough trivia, we raised nearly R23,000 for our Nippers Club! 🙌

This amazing effort goes directly towards supporting our Nippers with new equipment, essential repairs, SA Champs goodie bags, and so much more. 🌊🏄‍♂️
