The South African Football Association and the Minister of Sport are providing misleading information regarding the implementation of Video Assistant Referees VAR . I can assure you that VAR will not be utilized in the Betway league next season. The incompetence displayed by the South African Football Association necessitates that we demand their removal from office.
- The introduction of Video Assistant Referees is a complex process that requires careful planning. -
Several key questions remain unanswered, including: - Where will the equipment be located during matches?
- The training and recruitment process for officials has not commenced,
- The current officials are supposed to be undergoing training in preparation for the introduction of Video Assistant Referees. - Furthermore, we lack the capacity to implement Video Assistant Referees for every game.
- Where will the Video Assistant Referees be viewing the footage? Who will be responsible for the maintenance costs of the VAR ?
- And who will be transporting the equipment to each stadium?
While the South African Football Association and the Minister of Sport believe that Video Assistant Referees will be implemented next season, it appears that they are disconnected from reality.

The sooner we remove that leadership , the better..otherwise that VAR money will disappear.

I don’t understand this hype around Themba Zwane, the sooner we realize that the player is FINISHED, the better……For Hugo to call a 36yr old against young and pressing Mexico , leaving potential players behind who were playing week in and week out, taking someone who has been playing regularly.

Themba Zwane can’t press , can’t attack….he only plays when the ball is in his possession. A good Coach would never take someone like that to the World Cup. Worse a 36 yr old.

I’m starting to suspect SAFA leadership has a hand in the squad selection.
