Secunda Spurs Academy FC NPO proudly hosted its 2nd Annual KC Ndhlovu Farm Schools Tournament on 6 June 2026 at Roodebank Primary School, the reigning 2025 champions. The inaugural tournament was hosted in Charl Cilliers last year and has continued to grow as an important development platform for young athletes from farm schools and surrounding communities.
2026 Champions are Mdibini Primary School and Netball Champions Roodebank Primary School.
The tournament was established by Secunda Spurs Head Coach, Phil Ndhlovu, in honour of his late father, KC Ndhlovu. The initiative serves as a way of giving back to the community while promoting youth development through sport.
The event was made possible through the generous support of sponsors and community partners. GKC Consultants & Construction sponsored medals for the participants and were present on the day to support the young players. Activ8, an organisation passionate about developing children through sport across South Africa, sponsored additional trophies and medals. Activ8 hosts soccer boot camps throughout the year and continues to invest in youth development. Special thanks to Sergeant Dlamini Phumzile from SAPS Charl Cilliers for supporting us on the day with a sound system and enjoying the matches with us.
Thanks to the ongoing support of Secunda Spurs parents and players, the club was also able to provide food and refreshments for approximately 100 children attending the tournament.
In addition to receiving trophies and medals, the winning schools was awarded a brand-new soccer kit and netball kit sponsored by Coach Phil Ndhlovu and Secunda Spurs FC.
The tournament also provided valuable learning opportunities for Secunda Spurs players. Club members assisted with tournament operations by serving as referees and linesmen, helping to weld goal posts, mark fields, manage snack sales, and coordinate food distribution. Through these responsibilities, participants gained practical experience in leadership, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and event management.
Secunda Spurs FC is extremely proud of its young volunteers and remains committed to creating opportunities that develop both sporting talent and life skills within the community.
