Part 3: Kruger & Mapungubwe (Punda Maria & Mazhou )

1. Punda Maria Rest Camp

Typical Kruger National Park Campsite
First come first served (no pre booking of sites)
Electric Power at some sites (generator in times of load shedding!) and also non-electrified sites
Central scullery areas
Good clean communal ablution blocks
Some sites have a braai
No fire pits
Water is potable

12. Mazhou Campsite

You need to check in at the main reception for Mapungubwe National Park. This is 29km's on a gravel road that can sometimes be in a poor condition, or 42km's on the tar road.
Watch out for the monkeys and baboons (although the baboons did not come into the camp when we camped there)

Amazing Kruger Park Campsites - Part 2.

Tsendze Rustic Campsite and Shingwedzi Rest Camp.

Two lovely campsites within the Kruger National Park.

Tsendze is only for camping and there is no electricity, no shop and no swimming pool, making it a truly rustic experience.

Shingwedzi is a bigger campsite and located within a full rest camp. There is electric power as well as a shop and restaurant and also a swimming pool.

DG Overlanding recently camped at Kleinood Gasteplaas.
Kleinood is located just 6km’s outside of Modimolle. They have private ablutions (off-grid), hot tub, hot water from, a don key boiler as well as a nice paved area for your caravan, camping trailer or tent.

They even have a carport for your car.
No power, so you need to have a solar pannel to keep your fridge/freezer running.

DG Overlanding recently camped at Kleinood Gasteplaas. This is an off-grid campsite (in that it has no electricity) and you need to have your own solar panel...

Camping at Kleinood Gasteplaas just outside Modimolle.
Lovely- and has superb private ablutions.

Klipspringerkloof Bush Camp
Located just outside the Dinokeng Game Reserve
Here is a really super campsite.
And it's located just outside of the Dinokeng Game Reserve. This means that, if you don't want to do game drives etc., you need not pay the self-drive of the daily conservation fees.
They have private ablutions at all sites, braai and fire pits as well as a sparkling clean swimming pool. In addition, some sites also have their own splash pool, which can be heated (via a donkey boiler) if the water feels cold!!

EXPLORING Two of Baviaanskloof's AMAZING Campsites with DG Overlanding

• Doringkloof 4x4 Bush Camp
• Bruintjieskraal Camping

We traversed the Baviaanskloof and stayed in these 2 campsites. If you are travelling to and through the kloof, then you should have a look at this video. Well worth a visit and at Doringkloof you also have the option to drive their 4x4 trails and camp near a dam. Bruintjieskraal is located on a river (no electricity).
