It's hard to sum up a working relationship that began back in 2007. We were just youngsters working at The Fish River Sun and first came to know as a business partner. Over the years, Algoa has become far more than just a radio station to us, they’ve been a friend in business.
There are too many memories to mention, but one worth highlighting is that the Castle Lite Drive Cup was inspired by the station itself: It started as an annual golf tournament between EP and Border, led by the then afternoon drive presenters from the Algoa FM studios in PE and East London ( and ).
I also made many great memories with Biscuit on and off our mountain bikes when he so willingly got involved with the MTB events
In recent years, since starting my own sports events business, Algoa FM has remained a loyal and valued partner.
It’s an honour to continue working alongside the team, assisting with various branding projects, and in particular, their golf events. I truly appreciate the great friendships that I have made across all three broadcast stations over the years!
Cheers to everyone at Algoa FM, happy 40th, and thank you for continuing to prove that making FUN a serious business really works. Here's to the next 40 years 🍻
