The Warriors U23 have some serious young talent born in 2005 and later I’ve picked a few players I think could shine (this is just my opinion, not an official squad). Their journey starts with the CAF U23 qualifiers, a series of tough home-and-away knockout matches. Win there, and Zimbabwe reaches the U23 Africa Cup of Nations finals, where only the top two teams punch a ticket to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Every match matters, and this generation could make Zimbabwe proud! 🌍🔥

A CAF inspection team visited the National Sports Stadium last night as Zimbabwe continues its push to host AFCON qualifiers at home.

Sources say the progress has been positive, with the pitch receiving particular praise.

There is growing hope that the NSS could soon receive partial approval for international matches. 🏟️⚽

🇿🇼 ANOTHER YOUNG ZIMBABWEAN GOALKEEPER TO WATCH! 🧤🔥

Benjamin Tatenda Norell, just 16 years old, is making his way into the senior setup at Swedish giants Hammarby IF.

The Zimbabwean rooted goalkeeper has already been involved with the Hammarby senior team and was named on the bench in their UEFA Conference League match last week. 👏🏾🇸🇪

Born on 14 July 2009, Norell represents a promising new generation of Zimbabwean eligible talent developing in Europe. His progression will certainly be one to keep an eye on. 👀🇿🇼

🇿🇼🔥 ETHAN SUTHERLAND READY FOR THE WARRIORS!

20 year old Zimbabwe eligible left wingback Ethan Sutherland is set for a season long loan move to Exeter City, giving him the chance to gain valuable first team experience in England.

The Wolves youngster has also recently extended his stay at Molineux, keeping him tied to the Premier League club beyond this season.

Now playing regular senior football could be the next big step in his development. 👀🇿🇼

Sutherland has already committed to representing Zimbabwe and will be available for the Warriors if called up.

A left wing back with Premier League pedigree, entering League Two hungry to prove himself.

The road to the U23 AFCON qualifiers begins 28–30 September, with Zimbabwe aiming to take the first step towards qualifying for the 2027 U23 AFCON and, ultimately, the 2028 Olympic Games.

Some exciting overseas-based talents who could strengthen the Young Warriors include:

🇿🇼 Corbin Mthunzi (20) – Ipswich Town
🇿🇼 Sean Fusire (21) – Sheffield Wednesday
🇿🇼 Ethan Sutherland (20) – Wolves U21
🇿🇼 Prosper Padera (19) – SJ

The 2027 U23 AFCON Qualifiers are just around the corner, with Zimbabwe set to begin its campaign from 28–30 September.

With preparations entering a crucial stage, one big question remains:

Takesure Chiragwi was the last coach to guide this developmental side and knows the local game well. But should ZIFA stick with him for continuity, or appoint a new coach to bring fresh ideas ahead of such an important tournament?
