JUNE 2026 – Take One

The long weekend started with an Executive Think Tank in Witsand, where the Cape Winelands Netball Executive came together to reflect, plan, and shape the future of netball in our district.

Over the course of the weekend, robust discussions, strategic planning, and collaborative decision-making resulted in key outcomes that will guide our organisation towards 2030

This was more than a planning session—it was an opportunity to align our purpose, strengthen our leadership, and recommit ourselves to the growth and development of netball throughout the Cape Winelands.

Thank you to every Executive member for your contribution, passion, and commitment. The foundation has been laid, and we are excited about the journey ahead.

“Growth begins when we embrace opportunities to learn.”

While the GBV Netball Tournament was taking place at the Cape Winelands Netball Courts this past weekend, Annelie Lucas, Chairperson of Cape Winelands Netball, and Leticia Pietersen from KDP Club attended the Women in Business Course hosted by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) Cape Winelands.

The course was insightful, informative, and empowering, providing valuable knowledge on leadership, business development, and personal growth. The lessons learned will not only contribute to our own development but will also strengthen our ability to serve our clubs, athletes, and communities more effectively.

We extend our sincere gratitude to DCAS Cape Winelands for creating opportunities that enable women to grow, learn, and lead with confidence.

💜 GBV Awareness Netball Tournament 💜

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of yesterday’s GBV Awareness Netball Tournament at the Cape Winelands Netball Courts.

To our players, coaches, officials, volunteers, sponsors, supporters, and organising committee; your hard work, commitment, and passion made this event possible. Together, we not only enjoyed a day of great netball but also stood united in raising awareness against Gender-Based Violence.
