The Veggie Project

The Veggie Project We aim to encourage young children's interest in healthy eating, encouraging team work, and allowing Veggies...They are important!

Now a days life is so busy, often families are eating KFC's family special instead of a proper home cooked meal. Sadly many children don't have much exposure to healthy veggies. This project that I have put together is to help encourage an interest. How it works:
Each class get their own seed/tray/soil. They are responsible to care for and water it. Once the seedlings are big enough, they hand the

seedling tray over to another class to plant out into a Veggie Garden at the school. Together they care for the veggie garden. Once crops are producing, Veggies can be touched, looked at, and even tasted by students, and teachers can even incorporate their class veg into their teaching. The Veggies can be sold to make a profit, which is to impact the school in a positive way (School projects - Eg: Class room needs / sporting needs for the school). Then another very exciting point is to also make an impact in their immediate community. So, giving to the less fortunate, equipping all students with the memory of giving and enjoying being a positive impact in their communities... And ultimately taking their skills home, and inspiring family members to get together and start their own veggie gardens. The possibilities are endless, but where there is a passion, there is ALWAYS a way.
