Dear Mpumalanga Swimming Community,

We are writing to inform you of a change to the previously scheduled Awards Evening.

Following deliberation and consultation with a number of our members and coaches, the Executive Committee has resolved to move the Awards Evening to **Saturday, 10 October**, to be held in conjunction with the **Age Group 2 Gala**.

This decision was not taken lightly. We had originally planned to hold the Awards Evening at Winter Champs, but this did not materialise. Since then, attendance and entry numbers at Sprint Gala have been notably low, and after weighing the options with input from members and coaches across the community, we believe pairing the Awards Evening with Age Group 2 Gala gives us the best opportunity to celebrate our swimmers' achievements in front of a strong, engaged turnout.

We recognise that a date change can be disruptive to planning, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to make this occasion a meaningful one for all our swimmers, coaches, and families.

We would greatly value your support and commitment to attending on **10 October**. Your presence helps make this evening special for the swimmers being recognised, and we hope to see the community come together in full force.

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Executive Committee.

Dear Mpumalanga Swimming Community,

Mpumalanga Province Swimming (MPS) wishes to inform its members that the following Executive Committee portfolios have become vacant following the resignations of:

Sarah Mnisi – Vice-President
Ronel Bekker – Education & Training
On behalf of MPS, we would like to sincerely thank Sarah and Ronel for their dedication, service and valuable contributions to the development of aquatics in Mpumalanga. We wish them both well in their future endeavours.

In accordance with the MPS Constitution, the Executive Committee will be considering the appointment of suitable candidates to fill these vacancies and ensure the continued effective governance and operation of the Province.

We therefore invite nominations from the Mpumalanga Swimming community for the following portfolios:

Vice-President
Education & Training
Nominees should:

Be members in good standing with MPS.
Demonstrate a commitment to the growth and development of aquatics in Mpumalanga.
Be willing and able to actively contribute to the responsibilities of the respective portfolio.
Please submit nominations, together with a brief motivation, to the MPS Secretary no later than Wednesday, 2 September 2026.

All nominations received will be considered by the Executive Committee, and appointments will be made in accordance with the provisions of the MPS Constitution.

We encourage members to nominate individuals who can contribute positively to the continued growth, governance and success of swimming within Mpumalanga.

Congratulations to our 2026 Inter-Provincial Gala captains! 🏊

Anja Buitendach leads the girls’ team and Aidan Esterhuizen leads the boys’. Both have earned this through the work they put in every day — in the pool and out of it. We know they’ll set the standard for the rest of the squad in Tzaneen.
