The Great African Seaforest — the world’s only giant sea bamboo forest — has made the cover of TIME’s ocean-focused issue.
Stretching along the Cape Peninsula and up the west coast toward Namibia, this breathtaking underwater ecosystem has been captured in stunning detail by Cape Town freediver and underwater photographer Helen Walne.
Her iconic image now graces the cover, shining a spotlight on the beauty and importance of our cold-water kelp forest.

Nothing says ‘perfect Sunday’ like a lazy beach afternoon at Sodwana Bay 🌊☀️
Our guests are living their best lives — toes in the warm sand, ocean breeze in their hair, and that post-dive glow after exploring the coral reefs.
Back at Emoyeni Eco Lodge, the pool is calling for a refreshing dip, the braai is warming up, and those resurrected fans (thanks to our clever upcycling magic!) are keeping the guests nice and breezy.
Sunday done right: beach by day, fire by night.

There’s nothing quite like the first launch of the day. 🌅
We’re heading straight to Mellow Yellow on 2 Mile Reef to catch that morning glow. True to its name, this site is a goldmine of life—expect massive shoals of blue-banded and yellow snappers, and if we’re lucky, a curious Octopus or Mantis shrimp hiding in the gullies.

The water is calm, the air is fresh, and the fish are waiting. Let’s get wet! 🤿
