As we reflect on our time in eMandeni, KwaZulu-Natal, where AfriGrow was honoured to accept an invitation from the Zulu National Leadership, we are reminded that lasting impact begins by listening to communities and building alongside them.

These engagements continue to shape our approach as we prepare for the next chapter through Khulisa by AfriGrow Home—an initiative focused on bringing practical, community-centred solutions that strengthen household food security, promote sustainable agriculture, and create opportunities for local economic participation.

Every activation is an opportunity to plant more than crops; it’s an opportunity to cultivate knowledge, restore dignity, and empower communities to become active participants in their own growth.

The journey continues, and we look forward to walking it with the communities we serve.

Growing Food Security Starts with Growing Knowledge.

As South Africa’s pork industry continues to face pressure from Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) and African Swine Fever (ASF), the need for skilled, knowledgeable agricultural professionals has never been greater. These outbreaks have affected livestock production, disrupted supply chains, and reinforced the importance of investing in long-term food security through education and responsible farming practices.

Through the CLW Programme under AfriGrow, food security begins in the classroom.

CLW is developing future farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs, and industry professionals by providing practical, industry-relevant training that prepares learners to meet the challenges facing modern agriculture.

Students are equipped with knowledge in:

* Biosecurity and disease prevention.
* Sustainable livestock management.
* Agricultural entrepreneurship.
* Food production systems.
* Responsible farming practices that strengthen South Africa’s food security.

Every classroom session is an investment in resilient communities, stronger agricultural value chains, and a generation capable of safeguarding the nation’s food future.
