SPU Sport continues to contribute to the provincial and national sporting efforts – no fewer than 3 current SPU Netball players have been selected this year for the highest league in the country, Telkom Netball League (TNL).

Our New Head Coach

Let's welcome TNL Northern Cape Diamonds current Head Coach Nthabiseng "Queen" Hottie into the Gemmies Family ♥️👏.

We look into 3 and half months with our Former Coach Vhafuwi.

1. For the first time in history SPU had a membership of 64 players Registered with Netball South Africa the highest by a University in South Africa 2023. 5 clubs
- SPU A, SPU U19 A, SPU A2, SPU U19 B, SPU B. 3 Elite League 2 Twizza League

2. SPU NETBALL has more membership of student supporters 438 the highest in the University.

3. For the first time in history 3 SPU NETBALL players got selected to play TNL (biggest league in RSA).

4. For the first time in history 12 SPU players selected for Frances Baard District. Which includes 6 for U19 TNC (it will be the first time ever in history of the district campaigning in TNC)

5. First time in history SPU played against USSA Super League Teams/Varsity Netball

- VS NWU (lost to the first Team)
- VS NMU ( love to the first Team)
- vs UFS (Lody to the first Team)

And For the fiddy time in history SPU defeated al
-NWU B TEAM (one of it's B)
- NMU B Team
- Lost 17-14 to UFS B Team

6. First time in History SPU beat any CUT Team.
- CUT Welkom B Team
- CIT BLOEM Recreational Team

7. SPU played 6 games vs males Teams from Kimberly and won them all.

8. Kimberly Reds are 18 years Champions of Northern Cape Netball in a Row beat SPU 44-42 at SPU Netball courts.. the closes any Team has ever gotten.

9. For the first time in history SPU defeated one of Frances Baard heavyweights in the elite league Magogong Netball

10. For the first time in history SPU has played 22 games so far the highest number of games in the history of our club

11. Coach Vhafuwi left Both U19A and SPU A1 in the top 2 of Elite League and SPU B with 100% record in Twizza League

To everyone in the club: Thank you very much, I enjoyed every single moment being with you. You made me a better coach and a better person. I am Grateful!
To the SPU Student fans: Thank you for your support and affection in all these months. I tried my best in every opportunity to make you happy. You turned us into the most supported club in the University with the more membership
