Most people only see the finished knife.

The polished blade.
The wooden handle.
The final edge.

But before all of that, it's just steel and a piece of wood.

This is where the journey begins.

Over the next few days, we'll be transforming this blade blank into a finished hunting knife, built by hand right here in South Africa.

Every handmade knife has a beginning.

What started as a design on a screen is now becoming a real blade in the workshop.

This build is currently in progress and still has a long journey ahead:
✔ Blade profiling
✔ Handle fitting
✔ Grinding and finishing
✔ Heat treatment
✔ Final sharpening

There's something special about turning a piece of raw steel into a tool that could spend years in the veld, around a campfire, or on a hunting trip.

This is one of the first Oryx Blades builds and we're excited to share the process with you from start to finish.

Here’s a closer look at the ForgeLine 360 Scribe in action.

In this video I explain:
✔️ How the dual scribing system works
✔️ The 360° rotating pencil cam
✔️ Height marking functionality
✔️ Practical workshop applications for knife makers and fabricators

The ForgeLine 360 was developed in CAD and designed to improve layout accuracy, flexibility, and workflow efficiency in the workshop.

This is currently our introductory 3D printed model, with future development already in progress.
