Sunflower Women Football Club (Pty) Ltd is a women-led sports development company
with a 29-year legacy of developing elite female football players while driving social and
economic transformation through sport. Founded in 1996 in Hammarsdale, reminder: Hammarsdale had been affected by political
violence. Sunflower WFC emerged as a beacon of hope, using football as a structured
vehicle for skills

development, youth empowerment, enterprise development and
community upliftment. In 2018, the organisation transitioned into a Private Company (Pty) Ltd to strengthen
governance, unlock commercial opportunities, and enable structured participation in
Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD) value chains.

We said our final goodbye to our beloved sister, teammate, legend, and coach, Slindile “Small” Zungu. 💔🕊️

The pain of losing you is beyond words. You were more than just a footballer to us — you were the heart of the Sunflower family, a source of strength, laughter, guidance, and love. Your presence on and off the field touched so many lives.

As we stood together today, singing, praying, crying, and celebrating your life, we were reminded of the beautiful legacy you leave behind. The memories, the lessons, the smiles, and the passion you carried for the game and for Sunflower WFC will live forever in our hearts.

Thank you for every tackle, every word of encouragement, every sacrifice, and every moment you gave to this club. Your jersey may rest, but your spirit will continue to inspire generations to come.
