🌊☀️The KGG ladies brought all the beachy boogie vibes today, geared up and ready to hit the waves after the rain. Mother Nature had other plans though, with the ocean showing off a little too much power — so safety first, gorgeous girls! 🌊💃
No wave-riding this time, but in true KGG style we swapped surfing for serious shore-side sunshine, laughs, stimulating conversation and great coffee ☕️ made for a beautiful FriYAY by the sea. ☕🏖️✨

It's not often that the Kowie Granny Grommets cancel boogieboarding on a Friday, but yesterday was one of those rare days. Conditions at Kelly’s Beach were horrible: a pumping east wind, a chocolate-brown ocean, rip currents in the bay, and lumpy waves, crashing in all directions with a cold bite in the air. About 20 KGGs arrived. After chatting to the local lifeguard, Naldo Bende about conditions and safety, we decided to cancel.

Some of us opted for coffee and rusks at the Bliss Kiosk, four brave sea warriors took on the challenge and boogieboarded in the shallow waves, and others simply watched. Even though we didnt have an official boogoeboarding morning, we were still full of smiles and enjoyed catching up with one another.

Let's hope conditions are better next week!

In the afternoon, the KGG Birthday Festivities moved from Kelly's Beach ⛱️ to the Port Alfred Bowling Club for a fun bowls event. The KGGs arrived in style, wearing hats of many different colours and shapes. The weather was beautiful, the greens immaculate and the 'gees' was at its best.

Thank you, Claire, for organising the bowls event, the bar ladies and men, the venue and the music. You are such a star🫶🎊🙌👌
