Kwaggatjies aan die gang- 5 September…. Dit was hard, vinnig en opwindend. Baie geluk aan al die ryers, en Juffrou Charissa van Hoërskool Outeniqua (Kwaggas) wat hierdie geleentheid vir die kinders gegee het. Dit is vir ons n plesier om deel te wees van die skool se fietsry.

BUMS ON BIKES 🚲 | A DREAM | A VISION | A REALITY WITH ELPIDA

Sometimes a dream starts making sense long before you realise all the pieces were being put into place supernaturally.

Bums on Bikes has always been our dream for C2C Cycling Academy, to take cycling into underprivileged communities, give children the opportunity to experience riding, teach basic skills, identify talent and potential, and create a pathway for those who want to keep riding.

That is why we started Free Friday. It was never just another weekly ride. It was created with a bigger purpose.

Yesterday I had the privilege of meeting the incredible team behind Elpida, right here in Blanco, 2kms from us.

Their journey started in Golden Valley in 2020 with something as simple as feeding a hungry child. Since then, they have continued to grow their involvement in the community, supporting children and families through feeding, education, mentorship, counselling and creating spaces where children can learn, grow and simply be children.

What stood out to me is that their heart isn’t about a once-off intervention, but about walking a journey with a child.

And that speaks directly to our heart too. Through our newly registered C2C Cycling Academy NPC, we are looking at how we can bring cycling into what Elpida is already building, creating opportunities for the children to experience cycling, learn basic skills and simply discover the joy and freedom that comes with being on a bike.

From there, our dream is to identify those who develop a love for riding, show commitment or potential, and create a pathway for them to join our Free Friday programme and continue their cycling journey.

These are some of the little faces we look forward to riding with. ❤️
Elpida has already built relationships, trust and hope within this community. We simply want to take hands with them and bring what we know and love… cycling.

This is what Bums on Bikes was created for. This is where the dream starts becoming real while God is moving mountains… * photos shared with consent.

C2C E-Odessey… it was awesome. The first E-bike only event and the presence of joy, laughter, banter and fun was overflowing. Thank you to every rider who enjoyed the day with us, the forest feast, the amazing spot prizes from our sponsors Hair at Monroes, Meyer Steyn Jheerluk koffiehuis & deli, Henk Neuhoff Photography we appreciate your support and open hearts.
