The Southern Trail Goats Youth Crew is a trail running club that focuses on creating a space for primary and high school aged children to enjoy safe access to our mountains.

On Friday we took to the Trails of Kirstenbosch for the Trail Series Super League evening race.

The next morning we had our monthly group run in Noordhoek 🐐

Meet Liam, the founder of Southern Trail Goats 🐐

Liam is a Grade 5 teacher at Sun Valley Primary School and an avid trail runner and nature enthusiast.

Liam loves working with children and is committed to making trail running more accessible to children who would otherwise not get the chance to enjoy this incredible sport.

Event Announcement! 6th December 🐐

Between exams, end of year ceremonies, and UTCT fundraising campaigns, November has been quite crazy!

Meet Declan!🐐

He is one of our committed volunteers at Trail Goats and will be running the UT100km race at the end of this month at . He is part of the team of runners who are raising money for . Details to donate are in our bio.

“I grew up watching my dad run marathons and ultramarathons and always thought I would eventually get into running. I only really picked it up about 2 years ago properly encouraged by my girlfriend, Grace as well as Liam and Taylor. I ran the Milkwood half marathon in January 2024 and have been hooked on running ever since. Recently however I have spent a lot of time trail running with friends and it has been those special moments on the trails that has made me fall in love with trail running.

I was a volunteer at the UTCT Simon’s Town aid station last year. Watching the 100 miler runners come through was such an inspiring experience and I knew I wanted to give it a go this year. It didnt take a lot of convincing to get Oli to join me in my crazy goal of running the UTCT 100km. It has been amazing training with Oli, Liam, Grace, Taylor, my dad and everyone else that has been keen to get out there and run with me. It made the long hours of training so much more fun! I feel I am ready for the challenge and I can’t wait to get out there!” - Declan 🔆
