Bonteheuwel Running Club 10KM ROAD RACE | RACE Day. 22 August 2026

Elsies River Athletics Club took on 10 kilometres of commitment, courage, and community.

Every step counted. Every runner carried their own goal — chasing a personal best, testing their limits, or simply celebrating the love of running.

Congratulations to all of our athletes. Gershwin Duwayne with an awesome run, just missing out on an overall 3rd place. Special mention to our Podium Finishers in the MASTERS CATEGORY Coach Tobias Philander and The Honourable Olga Howard who represented us well in royal blue.

The road remembers the work.
The community remembers the waves of positive vibes only runners can bring!

WPA Cross Country - WPACC WPA Cross Country Club and School Championship.
🚆The Final Chapter🚆

It was a season of highs and lows.
A season of sunshine, storms, hills, thorns, falls and finish lines.

From the first step to the final race, the blue train showed what it means to be a team.

A cold misty morning at Northlink Panorama turned into a beautiful sunny chill. The course came alive with school kids, parents and athletes filling every corner — a celebration of cross country and community.

But this journey was never only about medals.
It was about courage.

A torn Achilles tested one of our families. Emmeranthia Lepati clearly still in pain from a torn Achilles gave little Oarabile a teary eyed instruction: "GO GET A MEDAL FOR Mommy". And Oara DELIVERED!!!

Our story doesn't end here it gets better. I guess it's what we do here at Elsies River Athletics Club. Get better... And when the chips are down we are even greater.
The Honourable Olga Howard claimed her title and made it official once again that she IS the Queen of WPA Cross Country.

Coach Tobias Philander took no prisoners and charged far far ahead with NO FEAR and NO FAVOR as THE STAMINA KING stormed to claim his gold in the GRANDMASTER MENS CATEGORY

Siviwe's consistency week after week amidst sometimes starting late paid off and his bronze medal is proof that even when you're 5mins late you can always sprint yourself into third🤣
🥉 Siviwe Nkombi Bronze! MASTER MEN 35-39

Abigail fought all the way, narrowly missing out on a podium spot by the smallest of margins. Next year Abby!!!Keaton also just missing the podium also with a 4th place. Our JUNIORS , SENIORS and MASTER MEN fought tooth and nail and left it all on the course on the day.

To EVERY Elsies ATHLETE who lined up, pushed through, encouraged a teammate and wore the blue with pride — we salute you.

Because that is the beauty of this journey — we don't only show up for the easy days. We show up for every challenge, every climb, every finish line.

The 2026 WPA Cross Country League is complete.

The results will be recorded.
The medals will be remembered.
But the culture we built together will last forever.

Seven Races.
Seven battles.
Seven chapters written into tradition

We had fun. We had sun. We had storms.
We had hills and thorns, tough climbs, unexpected falls and moments that tested our character.

But most of all… we had each other. (and loads of snacks Thanks Emms!!!)

At every turn, every climb and every finish line, there was a teammate’s voice pushing us forward.
Every encouraging shout reminded us that no one runs alone.

Cross country gave us more than results.
It gave us memories, friendships and a stronger bond.
